While very good, the two tactical RPGs mentioned above aren’t particularly innovative in gameplay. Sure, they do feature some unique gameplay mechanics that set them apart from other classic series like Shining Force, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Fire Emblem, but, at their heart, are still the same turn-based affairs that fans of the genre love. With The DioField Chronicle, however, Square Enix is setting out to spice things up considerably, changing one of the genre’s core mechanics....

Plaion and GoldKnights set up my time with The Last Oricru to highlight one of the few features you haven’t often seen recently: co-op. Not online co-op, though that is an option; it’s couch co-op in this case. My time with the game had me playing alongside one of the developers on a couch. However, I was quick to ask - and be reassured - that this would also be perfectly fine to play single-player - a good answer for somebody that doesn’t like to associate with human beings....

Although some consider Elden Ring to be less difficult and more accessible than previous Souls installments from FromSoftware, Elden Ring is without a doubt a challenging game, brutal even at some points. The game often can get frustrating at times, but these freshly-released mods might make the game somewhat easier while playing offline. The first mod comes from modder ‘Psyken Gaming’, and provides 99 million runes at the start of the game (savegame)....
