Earlier this week, Microsoft dropped a megaton when it announced it has acquired publisher Activision-Blizzard. The nearly $70 billion deal is expected to close somewhere next year and will make Microsoft the third-largest gaming company by revenue after Tencent and Sony. As expected, following the announcement, people started asking questions about the possible exclusivity of Activision’s massive IPs, including the Diablo and Call of Duty franchises. According to a recent Bloomberg report, Microsoft intends to keep “some” franchises multiplatform, whereas others will become exclusive to the Xbox ecosystem....

During today’s livestream, the Japanese publisher shared the game’s first trailer which confirmed that the game is launching worldwide on PlayStation and Xbox consoles on August 25th. The game will also launch on PC via Steam and the Windows Store the following day, on August 26th. No mention of a Nintendo Switch version has been made, which is interesting, considering the original Soul Hackers has been remade exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS a few years back, and it’s the only version of the game to have made it to Western shores, and that the latest major RPG from Atlus, Shin Megami Tensei V, released exclusively on Nintendo Switch back in November....

Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX) chief Mr. Elon Musk delivered a highly anticipated presentation for the company’s Starship next-generation launch vehicle platform at the company’s development facilities in Boca Chica, Texas. The Achievements list, which is available on Exophase, confirms that character-specific endings seen in previous entries in the series will be back. The list also confirms multiple difficulty settings and the return of some of the Star Ocean series’ most iconic bosses. The next development team that will try its hands at the genre is Spiders. The French developer, who is already known for developing solid action role-playing games like Greedfall, is currently working on Steelrising, an action role-playing game that aims to combine the deep role-playing game mechanics the studio is known for with the Soulslike formula of weighty, stamina-based combat, environmental narrative, and meaningful exploration. And while the game hardly feels original when it comes to the gameplay, I feel that Steelrising does have the potential to set itself apart from other similar games....

Unlike its predecessor, Street Fighter 6 will be released on Xbox in addition to PlayStation consoles and PC. There’s also a brand new live commentary feature, with famous fighting tournament voices commenting on your moves in real time. Street Fighter 6 launches at some point in 2023. In addition to new gameplay innovations, Street Fighter 6 celebrates what fans love about the franchise by uniting core modes from previous titles – including Arcade Mode, online matches, Training Mode, local versus battles and more – to the Fighting Ground experience....
